Making Gifts of Stock
Gifts of appreciated stock and securities are win-win alternatives to charitable cash donations. If you’ve held appreciated stock or mutual funds for more than one year, you may be able to receive a tax deduction for the current market value of the securities while avoiding capital gains tax on the appreciation. IRA Charitable Rollovers
If you’re age 70½ or older, you may be able to make a tax-free charitable distribution from your IRA to support the Land Trust. To make an IRA gift, contact your IRA administrator and ensure the distribution is made directly from your IRA.
