- Park near one of the four access trails along Galaxy Way
Now surrounded by Vandenberg Village homes, Mackie Mountain’s 17 acres of open space are conserved forever under an easement held by the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County. Also known as Muffin Hill, Mackie Mountain Preserve protects regionally unique Burton Mesa Chaparral vegetation with easy walking trails. From the top of Mackie Mountain, enjoy the panoramic view of the Lompoc Valley and the nearby 5,000-acre Burton Mesa Chaparral Preserve owned by the State of California.
