Arroyo Hondo Preserve is beautiful this time of year and it's always a great place to catch a glimpse of native wildlife. We are very pleased to offer a guided bird walk with Joan Lentz. Joan is one of Santa Barbara's most respected experts, a teacher and author on the subject of local birds. This opportunity is limited to a small group, so make your reservations right away! Feel free to bring a sack lunch and enjoy the Preserve at your leisure after the hike.

The Arroyo Hondo campout is an eagerly anticipated annual event for the whole family and it's the perfect way to celebrate Father's Day! Pitch your tent in the Hollister Family Meadow, hike and work up a hearty BBQ appetite, then gather around the campfire for star gazing, songs and s'mores. Dinner, breakfast, snacks and plenty of entertainment included.

Chris Chapman is one of Santa Barbara's favorite landscape painters and a member of the prestigious Oak Group. She was the first preserve manager at Arroyo Hondo with her husband John Iwerks and will bring this intimate knowledge of the place to workshops that will include time at Arroyo Hondo.
